Using the BlackBerry Internet Service to send content to BlackBerry devices

If you do not associate BlackBerry® devices with a BlackBerry® Enterprise Server in your organization's environment, you can associate the BlackBerry devices with the BlackBerry® Internet Service. The BlackBerry Internet Service is an email and Internet service for BlackBerry devices that is designed to provide Chalk™ Pushcast™ Software users with automatic delivery for email messages, mobile access to email message attachments, and access to the Internet.

The BlackBerry Internet Service can only access publicly available servers. To access the Chalk Pushcast Software, Chalk Pushcast Player users must select the BlackBerry Internet Service as their network connection in the Chalk Pushcast Player.

Chalk Pushcast Player users can also select TCP in the Chalk Pushcast Player as the network connection. To permit users to access the Chalk Pushcast Software using the TCP network connection, you must install the Chalk Pushcast Software in a hosted installation on a publicly accessible server.
