Creating a licensed channel host
The first step that you must complete to create a licensed channel for the BlackBerry App World™ storefront is to create a licensed channel host. You can create a licensed channel host which is the web site that you use to manage content and the licensed channel in the Chalk™ Pushcast™ Console.
To create a licensed channel host, you must provide information on the web page that requests details about the author who creates and publishes content for the licensed channel and about your organization. You then submit the information to the Chalk Pushcast Authoring Kit support team. After you submit the information, you receive an automated email from email@example.com that includes a link to a web page where you can provide information for the licensed channel host. On the web page, you must provide information about the licensed channel host and submit the information to the support team.
After you submit the host information, the support team sends two additional automated email messages from firstname.lastname@example.org to the email address that you specified for the licensed channel author. The first email message contains a link that you must click to activate the account for the licensed channel host in the Chalk Pushcast Software. The second email contains the user name and temporary password that you use to access the licensed channel host in the Chalk Pushcast Software.
BlackBerry App World users can access the licensed channel from BlackBerry App World. You can create content for the licensed channel using the Chalk™ Pushcast™ Plug-in for Microsoft® PowerPoint®. Users can sign up for a license to the channel in BlackBerry App World and receive content from the licensed channel for a fee. After users subscribe to the licensed channel, they download the licensed channel on their BlackBerry® devices. When users click the licensed channel on a device, they receive a prompt to download the Chalk™ Pushcast™ Player, which they must use to view the content.
