Settings for voice mail connectors

If your organization uses solicited voice mail notification, you must configure a voice mail connector so that your organization's users can receive MWIs on their BlackBerry devices. Your organization's BlackBerry Mobile Voice System users require a user ID and password to access their voice mail. If your organization uses unsolicited voice mail notifications, do not configure a voice mail connector. If you turn on MWI, when a caller leaves a voice mail message for a user, an MWI displays on the user's device.

You use the settings for voice mail connectors to associate the BlackBerry MVS with a voice mail system. To configure the settings, in the MVS Console, in the left pane, click Voice Mail Connectors > Manage.

Field

Description

Display Name

This field specifies the display name of the voice mail system.

IP Address

This field specifies the IP address of the voice mail server.

Registrar Name

This field specifies the FQDN or IP address of your organization's voice mail server, if required.

Port

This field specifies the port number that the BlackBerry MVS and your organization's voice mail server use for SIP communication.

The default port number is 5060.

Subscription Timeout

This field specifies the length of time, in seconds, before the registration session expires.
