Preparing to configure the BlackBerry MVS

Record the appropriate values for your reference during the BlackBerry Mobile Voice System configuration process.

If you plan to configure PBX-initiated calling, you require at least one Caller Identification Number (ANI) that is unique to the BlackBerry MVS in your organization's telephony infrastructure. You assign the ANI to the telephony connector.

 

If you plan to configure PBX-initiated calling, you may require optional ANI numbers that are used to identify incoming BlackBerry MVS calls.

MVS Server

Instance name. This name must match the name you typed in the BlackBerry MVS host field when you installed the BlackBerry MVS software.

Port number of the SIP line

Port number of the SIP trunk

If you are configuring BlackBerry device-initiated calling, a DID/DDI number that the BlackBerry MVS Client uses to call the PBX

MVS Event Manager

The port number that the MVS Event Manager listens on for requests for information from the MVS Console. The default port number is 17635.

Hostname or IP address of your organization's SMTP server

Port number of your organization's SMTP server

User name and password of your organization's SMTP server

Email address that you want event notifications to be sent from

Email address that you want event notifications to be sent to

MVS BlackBerry Enterprise Server Connector

Port number that the MVS BlackBerry Enterprise Server Connector listens for requests to send and receive messages to and from BlackBerry MVS users. The default port number is 17633.

BlackBerry Enterprise Server

Communication password of the BlackBerry Enterprise Server components, if necessary

MVS Data Manager

Port number that the MVS Data Manager listens for requests to retrieve information from the BlackBerry Configuration Database. The default port number is 17631.

MVS Witness Server

Port number that the MVS Witness Server listens on for health reports from BlackBerry MVS components. The default port number is 17634.
