View and save a smart tag

Depending on your wireless service provider and your device model, the NFC feature might not be available.

When you tap the back of your BlackBerry device against an NFC tag or scan a QR code that contains a smart tag, your device automatically saves the smart tag in the Smart Tags app. Depending on the contents of the smart tag, you might be prompted to allow the tag to open in another application such as the BlackBerry Browser or Phone application.
Do any of the following:
  • To view and save a new smart tag from an NFC tag, tap the back of your device against the NFC tag.
  • To view and save a new smart tag from a QR code, open the Smart Tags app. Tap The scan icon. Hold your device so that all four corners of the QR code appear on your screen. Continue to hold the device until you hear a beep.
  • To view a saved smart tag, open the Smart Tags app and find the tag. Tap the tag to open it.

Delete a smart tag from your device

  1. In the Smart Tags app, highlight one or more tags that you want to delete.
  2. Tap Delete.
