Remove an application

If you no longer want a specific application installed on your BlackBerry smartphone, you can remove the application.

  1. On the home screen or in a folder, click the Options icon.
  2. Do one of the following:
    • On smartphones running BlackBerry Device Software 4.0 or earlier, click Applications.
    • On smartphones running BlackBerry Device Software 4.1 to 4.7, click Advanced Options > Applications.
    • On smartphones running BlackBerry Device Software 5.0, click Applications > Third Party.
    • On smartphones running BlackBerry 6, BlackBerry 7, or BlackBerry 7.1, click Device > Application Management.
  3. Highlight a third-party application. Press the Menu key > Delete. When you are prompted to restart the smartphone, click Yes.
