New features and enhancements

The new features and enhancements in Twitter for BlackBerry smartphones version 3.1 include the following items:

Tweet details

When you click a tweet, you can now view details of the tweet, including photos, replies, and retweets.

New language support

You can now use the Twitter for BlackBerry smartphones app in Hebrew, Arabic, and Finnish.

Undo a retweet

You can now undo a retweet.

This section lists fixed issues for Twitter for BlackBerry smartphones 3.1.

General fixed issues

In some cases, if you launched the Twitter for BlackBerry smartphones app by clicking on a Twitter notification in the Messages app on your BlackBerry smartphone, your device did not respond and you had to remove and reinsert the battery.

When you signed up for a Twitter account, you were unable to use non-English characters for your Twitter username. However, when you used non-English characters to sign up for a Twitter account using the Twitter for BlackBerry smartphones app, the error message you received did not indicate you were unable to use non-English characters in your username.

In some cases, when you viewed a direct message in the Messages application on your BlackBerry smartphone and then logged out of the Twitter for BlackBerry smartphones app, you could access the direct message without logging back into Twitter for BlackBerry smartphones.

This section lists known issues for Twitter for BlackBerry smartphones 3.1.

General issues

In some cases, the numbers indicating how many people you follow, how many tweets you have posted, and how many people subscribe to a list are not correct.

You might not be able to use the Twitter for BlackBerry smartphones app if your device is associated with a BlackBerry Enterprise Server version that is older than BlackBerry Enterprise Server 5.0.

In some cases, you are unable to post a tweet from the Pictures app on your device.

In some cases, if the time on your device does not match the Network Time on your device, your tweet timeline might appear out of order.

In some cases, if you are using a BlackBerry smartphone with a touch screen, you are unable to select or clear some checkboxes on the Options screen.

In some cases, the cursor scrolls to the bottom of the screen when viewing a conversation.

In some cases, if you create two lists with the same name and then change your list's privacy settings, one of your lists will be deleted.

In some cases, tweets that are retweeted by the people you follow do not display on your tweet timeline.

In some cases, when you attempt to select text using a BlackBerry smartphone with a touch screen, the text selecting cursors do not appear.

In some cases, when you add your location to a tweet, the location displayed does not match the location that is posted with your tweet.

You are unable to insert some special characters into tweets you compose.

In some cases, neighborhoods do not appear correctly when viewing a tweet location map.

In some cases, you are unable to view a picture on a person's Twitter profile screen.

In some cases, text in the Twitter for BlackBerry smartphones app does not appear correctly when using your BlackBerry smartphone in portrait mode.

In some cases, if you have a theme installed on your BlackBerry smartphone, you are unable to scroll properly in the Twitter for BlackBerry smartphones app.

In some cases, tweets do not appear in the proper order on your Twitter timeline.

In some cases, after you upgrade your BlackBerry device software, you receive an error message when you attempt to log in to the Twitter for BlackBerry smartphones app.

In some cases, depending on your wireless service plan, you're unable to view photos in your timeline.

In some cases, when you change the location on the Trends screen, the trending topics do not change.
