Add a contact by typing an email address or PIN

The person must accept your invitation before the person is added to your BlackBerry Messenger contact list. If you have NFC technology on your smartphone, you can also add contacts using BlackBerry Tag. For more information about NFC technology, see the main help.
  1. On the contact list screen, press the Menu key > Invite to BBM.
  2. Type part or all of the contact information in the field at the top of the screen.
  3. Click the contact information.
  4. If necessary, change the Send Using field or the Category field.
  5. Click Send.
