You might want to update your BlackBerry Tablet OS for one of the following reasons:

• To access new applications and features
• To resolve a technical issue

By default, your BlackBerry PlayBook tablet data and settings are backed up before the update begins. Before you update your BlackBerry Tablet OS, verify that you have the most recent version of the BlackBerry Desktop Software on your computer.

It might take up to an hour to update your tablet software. During that time, you cannot disconnect your tablet from your computer.

1. Connect your tablet to your computer.
2. On your computer, in the Applications folder, click the BlackBerry Desktop Software icon. If a software update is available, you receive a prompt with a description of the update.
3. Click Update.
4. Complete the instructions on the screen.
