Call options
Change the display name for a phone number
- From the Home screen, press the Send key.
- Highlight the phone number at the top of the screen.
- Press the Menu key.
- Click Rename Line Labels.
- Type a new display name. The name can be up to 11 characters long. You can't change the part of the name that is in parentheses "( )".
- Press the Menu key.
- Click Save.
Set the preferred number for making work calls
Depending on the options that your administrator sets, you might not be able to perform this task. For more information, contact your administrator.
- From the Home screen, press the Send key.
- Press the Menu key.
- Click Options.

Line and Network Preferences.
- To use your work number for outgoing calls, change the Default line for outgoing calls field to Work. To specify whether your BlackBerry smartphone uses your mobile number if your work number is not available, change the When my Work line is unavailable, use my Mobile line field to Always, Ask me, or Never.
- To use your mobile number for outgoing calls, change the Default line for outgoing calls field to Mobile.
- To use the phone number that you last selected, change the Default line for outgoing calls field to Last selected. If the phone number that you last selected is your work number, to specify whether your smartphone uses your mobile number if your work number is not available, change the When my Work line is unavailable, use my Mobile line field to Always or Ask me.
- Press the Menu key.
- Click Save.

- To use the mobile network when it is available, change the Default network for Work calls field to Mobile. To specify whether your smartphone uses a Wi-Fi network when the mobile network is not available, change the When Mobile is unavailable use Wi-Fi field to Yes or No.
- Press the Menu key.
- Click Save.
Set the Wi-Fi networks that you want to use with your work number
Set your smartphone to move calls automatically from one network to another
Depending on the options that your administrator sets, you might not be able to perform this task. For more information, contact your administrator.
Before you begin: Set your BlackBerry smartphone to use a Wi-Fi network for work calls. When a Wi-Fi network is not available, specify your smartphone to use the mobile network.
- From the Home screen, press the Send key.
- Press the Menu key.
- Click Options.
- Click Network Handoff.
- To set your smartphone to move your call without prompting you, select the Always option. When your smartphone moves a call, you hear a tone.
- To set your smartphone to prompt you before it moves your call, select the Ask me option.
- To stop your smartphone from automatically moving calls from one network to another, select the Never option.
- Press the Menu key.
- Click Save.
Change the sound that you hear while a call is connecting
The BlackBerry MVS Client might take time to connect a call before your contact's phone rings. By default, while the call is being connected, you hear a tone, but you can choose to hear ringing instead. When the call connects, you hear ringing.

Call forwarding
Depending on the options that your administrator sets, you can forward your work calls to your desk phone, a mobile number, or a number that is external or internal to your organization. For more information, contact your administrator.

Add a call forwarding number
Before you begin: You can add up to five call forwarding numbers. If you add more than five call forwarding numbers, the oldest number that was added is deleted. Depending on the options that your administrator sets, you might not be able to forward your work calls to an international number. For more information, contact your administrator.
