Contacts

You can add a contact from your BBM contact list by finding a contact in the Recent Updates tab in BBM Music or by clicking Add a Contact on the Contacts tab. You can choose to invite a contact using BBM, email, PIN or text messaging, or social networking applications. When you invite someone to be a BBM Music contact, an invitation is sent to that person. If that person accepts the invitation, the person is added to your contact list.

When you are friends with a BBM Music contact, you can access that person's music.

You can delete a contact at any time.

Your profile

The My Songs tab includes your profile information. You can set a display name, status, and display picture for your profile.

You can add up to 50 songs to your profile. Each month you can swap up to 25 songs for new songs. You don't need to swap songs until you reach the 50 song limit. If you don't swap all 25 songs in a month, they aren't carried over to the next month.

You can only add songs to your profile that are available in your country's catalog. If a song is removed from the catalog, you can replace the song without using a swap.

Previews

You can preview songs in the catalog. A preview is a 30-second portion of a song that you can play in the BBM Music app. A connection to the wireless network is required to play previews.

Playlists

You can create playlists from music on your My Songs tab and from your contacts' music. Playlists can be private or shared with your contacts.

Comments

You can comment on your contacts' profiles or songs, as well as your own profile or songs.

Recent Updates

The Recent Updates tab provides a timeline of recent events and activities of your contacts on BBM Music.

Music catalog

You can add songs to your My Songs tab from the music catalog. Your music catalog is different depending on your country or region. The catalog that you view is determined by the location of your wireless service provider.

After you register with a particular country catalog, you can't switch catalogs.

Song caching and offline mode

When you play a song, it's stored on your media card. You can listen to any song that has been stored/cached when you aren't connected to a wireless network. Previews aren't cached.

To avoid data usage while you roam, you can turn off your data connection or switch your smartphone to roaming mode.

You can use your smartphone in offline mode until your next subscription renewal is required. After 30 days without a wireless network connection, the BBM Music application no longer plays your songs.

Explicit content

You can choose to turn on explicit content.
