This section lists fixed issues for Facebook® for BlackBerry® smartphones 1.8.

General fixed issues

You can now use shortcut keys when using the Korean version of Facebook for BlackBerry smartphones.

Previously, if you were using your device in German, Indonesian, or Dutch, some commands might not have been translated correctly.

You can now log into the Facebook application when you attempt to compose a Facebook message from the Messages application.

In some cases, lengthy Facebook messages did not display properly for BlackBerry® Enterprise Server users.

In some cases, when you upgraded your BlackBerry® Device Software, only the Facebook calendar would be restored to the calendar application. All other calendars previously in the calendar application are not restored after upgrading the device software.

When you attempted to upload a very large image (6MB), the hourglass icon appeared and remained on the screen until the upload failed.

In some cases, you were unable to log into the Facebook application when you attempted to compose a Facebook message from the messages application on your device.

In some cases, after you clicked Refresh, the News Feed screen did not refresh correctly. .

Translation issues

In some cases, if you are using your device in Portuguese or Thai, some commands might not be translated correctly and some items and commands might not display correctly.

General issues

In some cases, if a Facebook event has been added to your Calendar application, and the Facebook event is then cancelled, the event does not get removed from your Calendar application.

In some cases, when you synchronize your Facebook friends with your contacts in the Contacts application, your Facebook friends who have typed their phone number with dashes on the Facebook desktop website will not be linked to the corresponding contact in the Contacts application.

After ignoring a friend request on the Facebook website on your computer, if you attempt to confirm the same friend request on your device, you receive a connection error.

In some cases, when you attempt to accept or decline an event invitation, you receive an error message stating the event no longer exists.

In some cases, if you attempt to write on a friend's wall, send a message to a friend, or send a poke to a friend from the Contacts application on your device, the To field is not prepopulated with your friend's name.

When you compose a wall post or message to a friend from the Contacts application on your device, and then press the Back key, you are returned to the Facebook Home screen in stead of to the Contacts application.

In some cases, the Add to Friends link appears in messages from people that are already your friends.

In some cases, you are unable to send Facebook communications from the Contacts application on the device.

In some cases, when you attempt to upload numerous photos to Facebook, some photos are not uploaded successfully.

In some cases, you are not able to send Facebook messages to recipients by typing an email address in the To field.

In some cases, the number of comments indicated on items in the News Feed screen is incorrect.
