Switch typing input methods when you are typing
Your BlackBerry® device displays a typing input method indicator in the upper-right corner of the screen. SureType® technology is the default typing input method for most text fields. Multi-tap is the default typing input method for phone number and password fields.
Do one of the following actions:
- To use the SureType input method, keep pressing the Shift key until the
indicator appears. - To use the SureType input method with Shift lock, keep pressing the Shift key until the
indicator appears. - To use the multi-tap input method, keep pressing the Shift key until the
indicator appears. - To use the multi-tap input method with Shift lock, keep pressing the Shift key until the
indicator appears.
