The <s> element denotes that the enclosed text be displayed as strikethrough text.
Differences between HTML, XHTML, and XHTML-MP
The <s> element is deprecated in HTML 4.01. XHTML (strict) and XHMTL-MP do not support the <s> element.
Considerations
The HTML 4.01 specification recommends that you use the <del> element to display strikethrough text instead.
