Apply for a membership account

The membership application collects the information required to create a user account. Research In Motion reviews your application, and, if approved, sends you an email message to verify your membership account. After your account is verified, you can log in to the vendor portal using your user account and submit products that you want sell or offer for free on BlackBerry App World.
  1. In a browser, visit http://appworld.blackberry.com/isvportal.
  2. Click Get Started.
  3. Review the BlackBerry App World storefront vendor agreement, and select the appropriate check box to accept the terms.
  4. Perform one of the following actions:
    • If you want to offer free products only on BlackBerry App World, select the No option.
    • If you want to sell products on BlackBerry App World, select the Yes option. Read the Digital River license agreement and the Bango license agreement. Select the appropriate check boxes to accept the license agreements. You can select the check boxes after you scroll to the bottom of the license agreements.
  5. Click Next.
  6. Type the required information to create a user account for your membership account.
  7. Click Next.
  8. Type the required contact information for your organization. You can also upload a vendor logo that displays with your vendor information on BlackBerry App World. For specifications on the vendor image you can upload, see Best practices for logos and other images. The logo must be a .png file. If the logo is a square image, it must be 480 x 480 pixels. If the logo is not square, the height must be 480 pixels, and the width must be between 480 pixels and 1440 pixels.
  9. Click Next.
  10. If you plan to sell products, perform any of the following actions:
    • Click Check out with PayPal and follow the instructions to associate a PayPal account with your membership account. Your PayPal account is used to receive funds from the sale of products on BlackBerry App World.
    • If you want to receive payments through a wire transfer or automated clearing house (ACH), select the When possible, RIM should pay me using a Wire Transfer/ACH check box, if available. Type the required information. This option is available in select regions only.
  11. Click Next.
  12. Click Done.
Research In Motion reviews your application for a membership account and notifies you with an email message when your request is approved.
