In BlackBerry® Device Software version 4.2.2 or later, the BlackBerry® Browser renders images progressively. When the browser retrieves a web page, a low quality version of each image displays quickly. After the entire web page is downloaded, the browser retrieves the additional image file segments from the network gateway. The low quality images are enhanced as the additional image file segments arrive, until they meet the image quality that is specified by the user.
