Managing when users receive calls

You can manage when users receive calls to the phones that are associated with their user accounts using the following BlackBerry® Mobile Voice System features:

  • Turn on do not disturb: You can turn on the do not disturb feature so that the BlackBerry MVS forwards callers to users' voice mailboxes or other extension numbers. You can configure user accounts so that users continue to receive calls from their allowed caller lists.
  • Create a schedule for the work phone number: You can schedule when users receive calls to their work phone numbers using an off-hours warning schedule. For example, you can configure a user account so that the user only receives calls to the work phone number between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday.
  • Create a schedule for a phone: You can create schedules for the phones that are associated with user accounts. For example, you can create a schedule for a user's BlackBerry device so that the user only receives calls to the BlackBerry device between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday.

When the BlackBerry MVS receives calls for a user, it evaluates the do not disturb setting, the schedule for the work phone number, and then the schedule for each phone before it sends calls to the user's phones.
