BlackBerry MVS
log files
Log files record the activity of BlackBerry® MVS Server components. You can use log files to troubleshoot issues with the components. The BlackBerry MVS Server creates a log file for each BlackBerry MVS Server component. The log files are located on the computer that hosts the BlackBerry MVS Server in <drive>:\Program Files\Research In Motion\MVS\services\logs.

BlackBerry MVS Call Processor
|
The BlackBerry MVS Call Processor log files are named MVS_CP_<log_number>
.txt
(for example, MVS_CP_01.txt).
The BlackBerry MVS Call Processor
log files have a maximum size of 100 MB. The BlackBerry MVS Server
creates a maximum of 50 log files and overwrites the existing log files after the maximum is reached.

BlackBerry MVS Connection Service
|
On the BlackBerry MVS Server
that connects to the BlackBerry® Enterprise Server, the BlackBerry MVS Connection Service
saves the log files in <drive>:\Program Files\Research In Motion\MVS\services\mvs_BesConnector\Logs\<yyyymmdd>. The BlackBerry MVS Connection Service
log files are named <BlackBerry_MVS_Server_name>_ASCEN_01_<yyyymmdd>_<log_number>.txt
(for example, AIN0440_ASCEN_01_20080512_0001.txt). Each log file has a maximum size of 74 MB. The BlackBerry MVS Connection Service
creates a new log file after the log file size reaches the maximum.

BlackBerry MVS Notification Service
|
The BlackBerry MVS Notification Service
log file is named MVS_notify.txt. The BlackBerry MVS Notification Service
log file has a maximum size of 100 MB. The BlackBerry MVS Server
overwrites the existing log file after the log file size reaches the maximum.

BlackBerry MVS Session Manager
|
The BlackBerry MVS Session Manager log files are named MVS_SIP_day_<log_number>.txt (for example, MVS_SIP_day_1.txt). The BlackBerry MVS Session Manager
creates a log file every day for 7 days. After the seventh day, the BlackBerry MVS Session Manager
overwrites the existing log files. There is no maximum size limit of the log files.
