A caller hears a busy signal when calling a BlackBerry MVS user

Possible cause

Possible solution

The DID number for the user might not be correct.

Try performing the following actions:

  • On the PBX, verify that the DID number is configured correctly.
  • In the BlackBerry® Mobile Voice System web UI, on the Inbound Phone Numbers tab of the user account, verify that the user's phone numbers are correct.

A problem might exist with your organization's configuration of the PBX and media gateway.

Try performing the following actions:

  • On the PBX, verify that the PBX can route incoming calls to the media gateway. Verify that the PBX can route outgoing calls from the media gateway to the PBX extensions of the BlackBerry MVS users. Verify that the tie trunk group has appropriate permissions to make outgoing calls to external phone numbers over the PSTN.
  • On the media gateway, verify that the media gateway can route incoming calls from the PBX to the BlackBerry MVS Server and can route outgoing calls from the BlackBerry MVS to the PBX.

If a caller should have been directed to a users voice mailbox, your organization's voice mail system might not support dial strings for voice mail deposit.

Verify that your organization's voice mail system supports dial strings for voice mail deposit.

If a caller should have been directed to a users voice mailbox, the number for voice mail deposit might not be correct.

In the BlackBerry MVS web UI, on the Voice Mail Systems screen, verify that the Deposit Number setting is correct.

If a caller should have been directed to a users voice mailbox, the dial string settings for voice mail deposit might not be correct.

In the BlackBerry MVS web UI, on the Voice Mail Systems screen, verify that the Deposit Dial String setting is correct.
