Enable onboarding for the destination MDM domain

Onboarding is the process of activating users’ BlackBerry devices after user accounts are moved to the BlackBerry Enterprise Server for Microsoft Office 365. The onboarding process verifies that the devices retain data and settings after the migration process completes. By default, onboarding is disabled for the BlackBerry Enterprise Server for Microsoft Office 365.

If you do not enable onboarding, user accounts are moved to the destination domain, but the required user data is not migrated, and devices are not activated.

  1. On the computer that hosts the BlackBerry Enterprise Server for Microsoft Office 365, on the taskbar, click Start > Run.
  2. Type regedit.
  3. Click OK.
  4. Perform one of the following actions:
    • If you are running a 32-bit version of Windows, go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Research In Motion\BlackBerry Enterprise Server\Agents.
    • If you are running a 64-bit version of Windows, go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Research In Motion\BlackBerry Enterprise Server\Agents.
  5. Double-click the DWORD value named WOBEnabled.
  6. In the Value data field, type 1.
  7. Click OK.
  • Restart the Microsoft Exchange Web Services or wait approximately 11 minutes for a registry refresh.
  • After you complete the migration process, as a best practice for the performance of the MDM domain, change the value of the WOBEnabled registry value back to 0.
