Send a notification email message to a user account or group

  1. On the computer that hosts the BlackBerry Enterprise Server User Administration Tool, on the taskbar, click Start > All Programs > BlackBerry Enterprise Server Resource Kit > BlackBerry Enterprise Server User Administration Tool Client > BlackBerry Enterprise Server User Administration Tool.
  2. Type besuseradminclient <credentials> -send_email.
  3. Perform one of the following actions:
    • To send a notification message to a user account, type -u <user_name> -b <server_name> .
    • To send a notification message to a group, type -g <group_name> .
  4. Peforme one of the following actions:
    • To specify the subject and body text in the command line, type -subject "<subject_line_text>" -body "<message_body_text>".
    • To specify the subject and body text using an input file (.txt), type -infofile <filename> . In the input file, use the format in the example below.

besuseradminclient -username admin -password password -send_email -u “Julie Palmer” -b server1 -subject "Congratulations" -body "Congratulations on your 5 year anniversary with the company!"

besuseradminclient -username admin -password password -send_email -g Managers -subject "Thank You" -body "Thank you for your efforts on our most recent product release!"

Body=There will be snacks in the lunchroom all day to celebrate our tenth anniversary. Enjoy!
