Change the failover mode for the BlackBerry MDS Connection Service and BlackBerry Collaboration Service instances that are associated with a BlackBerry Enterprise Server

If you configured the BlackBerry MDS Connection Service or the BlackBerry Collaboration Service for high availability, you can use the BlackBerry Enterprise Server User Administration Tool to change the failover mode.
  1. On the computer that hosts the BlackBerry Enterprise Server User Administration Tool, on the taskbar, click Start > All Programs > BlackBerry Enterprise Server Resource Kit > BlackBerry Enterprise Server User Administration Tool Client > BlackBerry Enterprise Server User Administration Tool.
  2. Perform one of the following actions:
    • To change the failover mode of the BlackBerry MDS Connection Service and BlackBerry Collaboration Service to automatic, type besuseradminclient <credentials> -set_connection_failover_mode -enable -b <server_name> .
    • To change the failover mode of the BlackBerry MDS Connection Service and BlackBerry Collaboration Service to manual, type besuseradminclient <credentials> -set_connection_failover_mode -disable -b <server_name> .

Example: Changing the failover mode for the BlackBerry MDS Connection Service and BlackBerry Collaboration Service to automatic

besuseradminclient -username admin -password password -set_connection_failover_mode -enable -b server1

besuseradminclient -username admin -password password -set_connection_failover_mode -disable -b server1
