Field

Description

Setting for your organization's PBX

MVS Device Configuration

Phone type

The BlackBerry MVS Client option only appears if the BlackBerry MVS COP file has been installed. Select: BlackBerry MVS Client

Device Name

This field specifies a name for the BlackBerry device.

Type the extension number of the BlackBerry MVS user. When you configure the user in the MVS Console, ensure that you use the same extension number.

Device Pool

This field specifies sets of common characteristics for BlackBerry devices.

Select the device pool that you created for the BlackBerry MVS (for example, DP_MVS_<SITEX>).

Calling Search Space

This field specifies the calling search space that you created for calls from BlackBerry MVS Client instances (for example, CSS_<SITEX>_MVS_Device).

Media Resource Group List

This field specifies a media resource group list with media termination point resources.

If you select None, the Cisco Unified Communications Manager uses the media resource group list that is defined in the device pool.

Owner ID

This field specifies the ID number of the BlackBerry device user.

SIP Profile

This field specifies SIP information, such as registration information, for the BlackBerry device.

Select: Standard SIP Profile.

SUBSCRIBE Calling Search Space

This field specifies the calling search space that you created for calls from BlackBerry MVS Client instances (for example, CSS_<SITEX>_MVS_Device).

Setting this calling search space allows the user to move the call from the desk phone to the BlackBerry device.

Require DTMF Reception

This field specifies that the BlackBerry device requires DTMF reception.

Directory Number Configuration

This field specifies the directory number of the BlackBerry device user.

Type the extension number of the BlackBerry MVS user. When you configure the user in the MVS Console, ensure that you use the same extension number.

No Answer Ring Duration (seconds)

24 seconds (at a minimum)

This field specifies the length of time that the desk phone will ring before the PBX routes the call to voice mail. Increasing the value improves the probability of call set up success with the BlackBerry MVS Client.

Display (Internal Caller ID)

This field specifies an ID number that displays on the phone of the user that is receiving a call.

External Phone Number Mask

This field specifies a phone number mask if your organization displays the number of every DID.

Maximum Number of Calls

This field specifies the maximum number of simultaneous calls that a device can support using the directory number. The value that you type must be three or greater.

Busy Trigger

This setting works in conjunction with the Maximum Number of Calls and Call Forward Busy fields in the Cisco Unified Communications Manager. It determines the maximum number of calls that a device can support. The value that you type must be three or greater.

Configure the PBX to support the move call to desk feature

To support the move call to desk feature, you must configure all appearances of the BlackBerry Mobile Voice System user's directory number on all non-BlackBerry MVS phone devices.

For a list of the devices:

  1. Go to Route Plan > Directory Number.
  2. Search for the user's extension.
  3. Select each device listed in the Associated Devices list, in turn.
  4. For each, click Edit Line Appearance to configure the settings.
