Removing the BlackBerry MVS software

If you use Add/Remove Programs to remove the BlackBerry Mobile Voice System software, a message appears to ask if you want to delete all BlackBerry MVS database tables.

  • If you click Yes, all BlackBerry MVS database tables are removed and the BlackBerry MVS removal process continues.
  • If you click No, the BlackBerry MVS database remains intact, and the BlackBerry MVS removal process continues. If the database remains intact, you can re-install the BlackBerry MVS software more easily in the future. If you have set a communication password between the BlackBerry MVS and the BlackBerry Enterprise Server, when you remove the MVS Console the password is deleted from the Windows registry. If you re-install the BlackBerry MVS, you must log in to the MVS Console and reset the communication password.
  • If you click Cancel, the BlackBerry MVS removal process stops.

Remove the BlackBerry MVS software

  1. If you are removing the BlackBerry Mobile Voice System software from a Windows 2003 server, go to step 2. If you are removing the BlackBerry MVS software from a Windows 2008 server, go to step 11.
  2. On the taskbar of the Windows 2003 server, click Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs.
  3. Click Change or Remove Programs.
  4. Click BlackBerry Mobile Voice System.
  5. Click Remove.
  6. When prompted to remove BlackBerry MVS, click Yes.
  7. In the delete all database tables message, select an option.
  8. If prompted to delete log files, select an option.
  9. When prompted, click Yes to restart the computer. The restart completes the procedure to remove BlackBerry MVS software from the Windows 2003 server.
  10. On the taskbar of the Windows 2008 server, click Start > Computer.
  11. Under the Address bar, click Uninstall or change a program.
  12. Click BlackBerry Mobile Voice System.
  13. Click Uninstall.
  14. When prompted to remove BlackBerry MVS, click Yes.
  15. In the delete all database tables message, select an option.
  16. If prompted to delete log files, select an option.
  17. When prompted, click Yes to restart the computer. The restart completes the procedure to remove BlackBerry MVS software from the Windows 2008 server.
