Instruct users to configure the BlackBerry Client for Microsoft SharePoint to connect to the BlackBerry Social Networking Application Proxy

If you did not configure IT policy rules to send configuration settings for the BlackBerry Client for Microsoft SharePoint to BlackBerry devices, you must send the configuration information to BlackBerry device users so that they can type the information into the application manually. The application prompts the user for the server address and the file server address of the BlackBerry Social Networking Application Proxy the first time the user starts the application. The application requires this information to connect to the BlackBerry Social Networking Application Proxy.
Distribute the BlackBerry Client for Microsoft SharePoint to devices.
  1. Send an email message to users that contains the Proxy URL for Microsoft SharePoint and the File Service URL for Microsoft SharePoint. You recorded this information when you installed the BlackBerry Social Networking Application Proxy.
    • The Proxy URL for Microsoft SharePoint uses the following format: https://<SNAP_server_name>:23443/sp-110/.
    • The File Service URL for Microsoft SharePoint uses the following format: https://<SNAP_server_name>:22445/fileservices-110/.
  2. Send the following instructions to users:
    1. Open the BlackBerry Client for Microsoft SharePoint.
    2. In the Server Address field, type https://<SNAP_server_name>:23443/sp-110/.
    3. In the File Server Address field, type https://<SNAP_server_name>:22445/fileservices-110/.
