Compatibility

The following environments have been fully tested and are recommended for use with the tool:

  • BlackBerry Device Service 6.0
  • BlackBerry Enterprise Server for Microsoft Exchange 5.0 SP3
  • BlackBerry Enterprise Server for IBM Lotus Domino 5.0 SP3

The following environments have been partially tested and are supported for use with the tool:

  • BlackBerry Enterprise Server Express for Microsoft Exchange 5.0 SP3
  • BlackBerry Enterprise Server Express for IBM Lotus Domino 5.0 SP3

The following environments are not supported for use with the tool:

  • BlackBerry Enterprise Server for Microsoft Exchange 5.0 SP2 or earlier
  • BlackBerry Enterprise Server for IBM Lotus Domino 5.0 SP2 or earlier
  • BlackBerry Enterprise Server for Novell GroupWise 5.0 SP1 or earlier
  • BlackBerry Enterprise Server Express for Microsoft Exchange 5.0 SP2 or earlier
  • BlackBerry Enterprise Server Express for IBM Lotus Domino 5.0 SP2 or earlier
BlackBerry Administration Service

The BlackBerry Enterprise Server User Administration Tool must be able to connect to the BlackBerry Administration Service.

Memory

At least 2 GB of memory

Browser

Windows Internet Explorer 6.0 or 8.0 with language preferences configured to display encoded webpages.

Running the BlackBerry Enterprise Server User Administration Tool from a remote computer

Running the BlackBerry Enterprise Server User Administration Tool from a remote computer using the UNC path is not supported. If you did not run the setup application for the tool on the computer, the computer might not have the security requirements to run the tool.

This document assumes that you are using the tools in the BlackBerry Resource Kit for the BlackBerry Device Service to manage, maintain, and troubleshoot a BlackBerry Device Service environment.
