Delete a
BlackBerry MVS Server
There are three
options for deleting a
BlackBerry MVS Server:

Delete a standalone
BlackBerry MVS Server and discontinue
BlackBerry MVS service
for the users that are assigned to the
BlackBerry Mobile Voice System.

This is the only option available if there is only one
BlackBerry MVS Server in your
BlackBerry Domain.
You must remove all of the users from the
BlackBerry MVS Server before you delete the BlackBerry MVS Server.
Start at step 1.
|

Delete a standalone
BlackBerry MVS Server and continue to provide
BlackBerry MVS service to
the users that are assigned to the
BlackBerry MVS Server.
|
You must have at least two
BlackBerry MVS Server instances in your
BlackBerry Domain.
Before you delete the
BlackBerry MVS Server, you must move all of the users that are assigned to it to another
BlackBerry MVS Server.
Start at step 8.
|
|
Delete a
BlackBerry MVS Server that is part of a high availability pair.
|
Start at step 29.
|
Note: BlackBerry MVS users cannot make or take new calls and some mid-call features may not
work until the transition from one
BlackBerry MVS Server to another is complete. This can take several minutes,
depending on the number of users.

In the
MVS
Console, in the left pane, expand
Users.
-
Click
Manage.
-
On the
MVS Server menu, click the
BlackBerry MVS Server that you want to delete.
The
MVS Server menu is not displayed when you have
only one
BlackBerry MVS Server in your
BlackBerry Domain.

To find the users that you want to remove from the
BlackBerry MVS Server, click
Search.

In the table of users, to select the users that you want to
remove, select the check box beside
User Name.

Click
Remove MVS Users.

If you have only one
BlackBerry MVS Server in your
BlackBerry Domain, go to step 29.

In the
MVS
Console, in the left pane under
Servers and Components, expand
MVS Topology.

Click
Server View.
-
Click the
Instance Name of the
BlackBerry MVS Server that you want to delete.

In the
BlackBerry Enterprise Server Connector
section, clear the check boxes beside all of the associated
BlackBerry Enterprise Server instances.

Click
OK.
-
Click
Save.
-
In the left pane, click
Server View.
-
Select the
Instance Name of a
BlackBerry MVS Server with which you want to associate one or more of the
BlackBerry Enterprise Server instances that you disassociated from the
BlackBerry MVS Server that you want to delete.

In the
BlackBerry Enterprise Server Connector
section, select the check box beside the
Instance Name of each
BlackBerry Enterprise Server that you want to associate with the
MVS BlackBerry Enterprise Server
Connector.

Click
Save.
-
Repeat steps 14 to 17 until all disassociated
BlackBerry Enterprise Server instances are associated with another
MVS BlackBerry Enterprise Server
Connector.

If you have already removed the users from the
BlackBerry MVS Server that you want to delete, go to step 29.

In the
MVS
Console, in the left pane, expand
Users.
-
Click
Manage.
-
On the
MVS Server menu, click the
BlackBerry MVS Server that you want to delete.

To find the users that you want to delete, click
Search.
-
In the table of users, to select the users that you want to
remove, select the check box beside
User Name.
-
Click
Change MVS User Settings.
-
On the
MVS Server menu, click another server.
-
Click
Review Changes to verify the changes.

Click
Save.
-
In the
MVS
Console, in the left pane under
Servers and Components, expand
MVS Topology.

Click
Server View.
-
Beside the
BlackBerry MVS Server that you want to delete, click
Delete.

Click
OK.
