Authors create content using the BlackBerry® Pushcast™ Software and the BlackBerry Pushcast Plug-in for Microsoft® PowerPoint®. Using the BlackBerry Pushcast Plug-in for Microsoft PowerPoint, authors can create content that includes audio, videos, graphics, phone numbers, email addresses, and website links. Authors can also create tests or surveys that BlackBerry Pushcast Software users can access at the end of the content.

The content that authors create using the BlackBerry Pushcast Plug-in for Microsoft PowerPoint looks the same when it is rendered to play on BlackBerry devices. The BlackBerry Pushcast Plug-in for Microsoft PowerPoint automatically converts all audio and video files that are in the content to the appropriate format for BlackBerry Pushcast Player users to view on BlackBerry devices. The BlackBerry Pushcast Plug-in for Microsoft PowerPoint maintains the aspect ratio and frame rate for videos, and decreases the resolution for a video only when required for BlackBerry devices. The BlackBerry Pushcast Plug-in for Microsoft PowerPoint does not increase the resolution for a video. The BlackBerry Pushcast Plug-in for Microsoft PowerPoint supports the H.264 encoding formats for a higher resolution video.

Authors can use the preview feature in the BlackBerry Pushcast Plug-in for Microsoft PowerPoint to view the content that they create before they send it to BlackBerry Pushcast Player users or BlackBerry Pushcast Desktop Player users. Authors can select a BlackBerry device from a list of devices in the preview feature to see how the content looks in the BlackBerry Pushcast Player on the device.
