Create a host for the BlackBerry Pushcast Software

Before you begin: Verify that you have permission to access the BlackBerry Pushcast Software server.
  1. Perform one of the following tasks:

    Create a host in the setup wizard for the BlackBerry Pushcast Software when you complete the installation for the BlackBerry Pushcast Software.

    1. Click Next.
    2. Click Create Host.

    Create an additional host for the BlackBerry Pushcast Software on the BlackBerry Pushcast server.

    1. Navigate to where you saved the BlackBerry Pushcast Software installation files.
    2. Expand utilities > HostCreationTool.
    3. Double-click the HostAdministrationTool.exe file.
  2. In the General section, in the Host name field, type the name of the host that appears in the upper-right corner of the BlackBerry Pushcast Console.
  3. In the Description field, type a description for the host.
  4. In the Return email address field, type the email address for the email account that you want to use to create notification email messages that the BlackBerry Pushcast Software sends to BlackBerry Pushcast Software users.
  5. In the Default language list, click a language.
  6. In the IIS Settings section, in the Web site list, click the website that you created in Microsoft IIS 6 for the BlackBerry Pushcast Software.
  7. In the Virtual directory name field, type the name for the unique virtual directory that you can use to access the host for the BlackBerry Pushcast Software.
  8. Click Next.
  9. In the Email address field, type the email address for the BlackBerry Pushcast Software administrator that you want to be the super user.
  10. In the Password and Confirm password fields, type a unique password for the super user that is not the same as the administrator password and contains 6 to 12 characters, at least one uppercase letter, and one number.
  11. In the Initial User section, in the First name field, type the first name of the BlackBerry Pushcast Software administrator.
  12. In the Last name field, type the last name of the BlackBerry Pushcast Software administrator.
  13. In the Email address field, type the email address for the BlackBerry Pushcast Software administrator.
  14. In the Password and Confirm password field, type a unique password for the BlackBerry Pushcast Software administrator that is not the same as the super user password.
  15. In the Preferred language field, type a language.
  16. Click Next.
  17. In the Default Delivery section, select options to specify how you send content to BlackBerry Pushcast Software users.
  18. In the Default User Creation section, specify whether users can change content delivery options and notifications.
  19. In the Default Notifications section, select the type of notification email messages that you want to send to BlackBerry Pushcast Software users.
  20. Click Finish.
After you finish: After you create a host, log in to the BlackBerry Pushcast Software. Consider recording the information that you provided when you created a host for the BlackBerry Pushcast Software so that you have it for future reference.
