Install the BlackBerry Social Networking Application Proxy

The setup application installs the BlackBerry® Social Networking Application Proxy and other files that are required to distribute the BlackBerry® Client for Microsoft® SharePoint® to BlackBerry devices.
  1. On the server where you want to install the BlackBerry Social Networking Application Proxy, double-click the BlackBerry_Enterprise_Software_for_Microsoft_Sharepoint_version.exe file.
  2. Select the appropriate language.
  3. Click OK.
  4. If you are prompted, install the JRE™.
  5. Click Next.
  6. On the Country or Region Selection screen, select the country that you are located in.
  7. Click Next.
  8. On the License Agreement screen, accept the license agreement.
  9. Click Next.
  10. On the Customer Information screen, type the Serial Number, License Key, and CAL Authentication Key that you received with your purchase order.
  11. Click Next.
  12. On the Account Configuration screen, type the user name and password for a new account that you will use to access the BlackBerry Social Networking Application Proxy Administration Service. If you do not type a user name and password during installation, you can type the information the first time you start the BlackBerry Social Networking Application Proxy Administration Service.
  13. Click Next.
  14. On the Setup Server Configuration screen, type the required information. The setup application uses this information to create a certificate that you can add to the certificate store of the BlackBerry MDS Connection Service to allow trusted HTTPS connections. The Group Name that you specify appears as the Organizational Unit (OU) in the certificate.
  15. Click Next.
  16. Complete the instructions on the remaining screens.
  17. Before you click Finish, record the Proxy URL for Microsoft SharePoint, the File Service URL for Microsoft SharePoint, and the Microsoft SharePoint Client Download URL. You can use the proxy URL and the file service URL to configure IT policy rules on the BlackBerry® Enterprise Server. You use the IT policy rules to configure connection settings for the application on BlackBerry devices. Alternately, you can send this information to users, and they can enter the information the first time they open the application.

    You can use the client download URL to install the application on devices. You can send the URL to users in an email message and users can access the link from their devices to install the application.

After you finish: Log in to the BlackBerry Social Networking Application Proxy Administration Service to verify that the BlackBerry Social Networking Application Proxy is running.
