Allowing trusted connections

If your organization uses HTTPS connections, you must allow trusted connections between the BlackBerry® Social Networking Application Proxy and the BlackBerry MDS Connection Service, and between the Microsoft® SharePoint® server and the BlackBerry MDS Connection Service. If your organization does not use HTTPS connections, you do not need to perform the configuration tasks discussed in this section.

To allow trusted connections between these servers, you must add certificates to the BlackBerry MDS Connection Service. The certificates permit the service to accept HTTPS connections from the BlackBerry Social Networking Application Proxy and the Microsoft SharePoint server.

The BlackBerry Social Networking Application Proxy supports both self-signed and signed certificates, so you do not need to add the Microsoft SharePoint certificate to the BlackBerry Social Networking Application Proxy.
