security services to manage and maintain the information that the
BlackBerry Pushcast servers store
in a hosted environment.

The
BlackBerry Enterprise Server encrypts and
compresses application data that
BlackBerry devices receive and decompresses and
decrypts application data that devices send.

BlackBerry MDS Connection Service
|
The
BlackBerry MDS Connection Service is a
BlackBerry Enterprise Server component that
exists in an organization's network behind a firewall. The
BlackBerry MDS Connection Service is designed
to provide
BlackBerry Pushcast Player users
with highly secure access to their organization's intranet and the Internet.
The
BlackBerry MDS Connection Service makes
requests to the
BlackBerry Pushcast
server to access content.

|
The
BlackBerry Pushcast Software
permits authors to create content and send it to
BlackBerry Pushcast Software users.
The mobile initiator service is a
BlackBerry Pushcast Software component that sends encrypted
email messages to devices. The email messages contain information that devices
use when
BlackBerry device users
download new content or delete existing content.
