Automated notification messages
If the BlackBerry® Enterprise Server Express cannot send email messages to BlackBerry devices, it sends a notification PIN message to the BlackBerry devices automatically, informing users about an issue with wireless email delivery.
Change the subject for automated notification messages
You can change the subject for automated notification messages that users receive on their BlackBerry® devices. If you do not create a subject, the BlackBerry® Enterprise Server Express uses the default subject.
- On the computer that hosts the BlackBerry Enterprise Server Express, on the Start menu, click Run.
- Type regedit.
- Click OK.
- Perform one of the following actions:
- If you are running a 32-bit version of Windows®, navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Research In Motion\BlackBerry Enterprise Server\Agents.
- If you are running a 64-bit version of Windows, navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\WOW6432Node\Research In Motion\BlackBerry Enterprise Server\Agents.
- Right-click Agents. Click New > String Value.
- Type UserSuppliedBBMessageSubject.
- Double-click the new value.
- In the Value data field, type a subject that does not exceed the 256 KB limit.
- Click OK.
Turn off automated notification messages
You can turn off automated notification messages if users receive them too frequently.
- On the computer that hosts the BlackBerry® Enterprise Server Express, on the Start menu, click Run.
- Type regedit.
- Click OK.
- Perform one of the following actions:
- If you are running a 32-bit version of Windows®, navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Research In Motion\BlackBerry Enterprise Server\Agents.
- If you are running a 64-bit version of Windows, navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\WOW6432Node\Research In Motion\BlackBerry Enterprise Server\Agents.
- Right-click Agents. Click New > DWORD Value.
- Type MaxSkippedNotificationsPerDay.
- Double-click the new value.
- In the Value data field, type 0.
- Click OK.
