Where the BlackBerry Enterprise Server stores messages and user data in the messaging environment
The BlackBerry® Enterprise Server stores the messages and user data for a BlackBerry device in the messaging environment so that the BlackBerry Enterprise Server can maintain a connection between a user’s email account and the device. To avoid compromising the user data that is stored in the messaging environment, you must protect the storage location in the messaging environment.

The following Lotus
Domino databases store data for the BlackBerry Enterprise Server: - The BlackBerry state database stores an entry that opens a connection between each original email message in a user’s IBM® Lotus Notes® Inbox and the same email message on the user’s device. Each user account has a uniquely named BlackBerry state database.
- The BlackBerry profiles database stores configuration information for each user account, including the identification information for the device and the device transport key. The BlackBerry profiles database stores a link to a BlackBerry state database and stores other information that the BlackBerry Enterprise Server uses to manage how email messages are sent to and from the device.
