Deleting data from devices

To help prevent your organization's data on BlackBerry® devices from being compromised, you can use the Delete all device data and disable device IT administration command to delete all data from devices. You can permanently delete all BlackBerry device user data and application data that devices store or you can return device settings to the default values. You can send the IT administrative command to devices that you want to reassign to other BlackBerry device users in your organization, or to devices that are lost and that users might not recover.

For devices that run an upcoming version of BlackBerry® 6, you can use the Delete all organizational device data IT administration command to delete only work data from devices. If your organization permits users to use devices for both personal use and work use, you can permit your organization to delete your organization's data and applications from personal devices when users are no longer a part of your organization.
