Interpreting an email message

An email message that the BlackBerry® Infrastructure and Smartphone Simulator sends can provide more detailed information than the reports that the BlackBerry Infrastructure and Smartphone Simulator generates. Reports show an aggregate value, where the other types of message might hide a particular issue. For example, if your organization's BlackBerry Attachment Service has an issue with a specific type of attachment, the issue might not be visible. An email message with that type of attachment can show evidence of the issue.

From a single email message and the associated entries in the BlackBerry® Enterprise Server log files, you can discover the following information:

  • lag time for a single email message
  • attachment issues
  • permission issues
