Protecting a BlackBerry device using Assistive Technology permissions

The first time that an application that uses the Text-To-Speech API runs on a BlackBerry® device, the device provides the user with an option to permit the application to run as the Assistive Technology on the device. If the user grants Assistive Technology permissions to the application, the application can access and retrieve information from accessible device applications that use the Accessibility API. If the user does not grant Assistive Technology permissions to the application, the application cannot run.
