Malware vulnerabilities on a BlackBerry device

Potentially malicious users can create third-party Java® applications, called malware, that can cause harm to your organization's network or a BlackBerry® device. Potentially malicious users might create malware that is designed to steal personal data or your organization's data, create a denial-of-service attack to make your organization's network unusable, or access your organization's network using a device.

Some malware might cause harm to a device. For example, potentially malicious users can design viruses, Trojan horses, worms, or spyware to cause harm to a device.

To help protect a device against malware, you can use application control policy rules and Assistive Technology permissions. You can also remove applications from a device over the wireless network.
