Verify that you have the following information available for the BlackBerry® Configuration Database of the BlackBerry Domain:

• location and name of the BlackBerry Configuration Database
• if you are using database authentication to connect to the BlackBerry Configuration Database, the user name and password for the Microsoft® SQL Server® login to access the BlackBerry Configuration Database
• whether the BlackBerry Configuration Database is configured for database mirroring
• the static port number that Microsoft SQL Server uses in your organization's environment, if the BlackBerry Configuration Database does not use dynamic ports and the static port is not the default static port number (port 1433)

Verify that you installed Microsoft SQL Server on the BlackBerry MVS Server and that it is enabled for both Windows® authentication and Microsoft SQL Server authentication.

Verify that you have the following BlackBerry MVS Server information available:

• user name and password for the Windows account that you want to use to install the BlackBerry® Mobile Voice System software and that the account assigned the required permissions
• user name and password for the Microsoft SQL Server login that you want to use to create the BlackBerry MVS database (for example, the sa account)
• if you configured Microsoft SQL Server on the BlackBerry MVS Server to use static ports, the static port number (for example, port 1433)

Verify that you have the following additional information available:

• IP address of your organization's media gateway
• IP address of dual on-board NIC on the BlackBerry MVS Server
• email account information that the BlackBerry MVS Server can use to send email messages
• required port numbers that are open and available

On the computer where you want to install the BlackBerry MVS software, verify that the computer does not download Windows updates automatically and install them on a schedule.
